The latest Ford Explorer debuts new features packages (the ST Sinister Package, 3.0L Ultimate Package, and Ford Security Package) and exterior colors (Avalanche Gray and Ruby Red). Plus, there’s a new version of the trail-friendly Tremor that comes standard with a longer list of features, including the Explorer’s 400-horsepower engine upgrade.
Availability for some features has also changed. For example, the classy Platinum trim model is once again available with the 3.0-liter engine upgrade. Last year’s fixed-glass roof is no longer available, but the Panoramic Vista Roof (with a power shade) rejoins the options list.
The new 3.0L Ultimate Package adds style and luxury items to the already well-equipped Explorer Platinum trim. It includes the contents of the Lux Leather Package, like premium leather seating and quilted door trim. Outside, 21-inch Dark Alloy wheels and quad chrome exhaust tips give your SUV an aggressive look. The package is automatically included when you upgrade your Platinum with the 400-horsepower 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine.
