New features for the 2027 Maverick include new paint colors and features packages. Shoppers can choose from three new exterior shades: Gladwin Green, Neptune Blue, and Glacier Gray. The Bronze Appearance Package, available for the mid-level XLT and sophisticated Lariat, applies coppery exterior trim. The new Lariat Luxury Package upgrades the already nicely equipped Lariat with tech upgrades that include LED box lighting, the Pro Power Onboard generator, and an eight-speaker B&O sound system. Finally, every Maverick gets a one-year subscription to the Ford Security Package, which helps track your truck in the unfortunate case that it’s stolen.
We should also note that four paint colors — Space White, Azure Gray, Carbonized Gray, and Marsh Gray — have been deleted for 2027.
Ford is shaking up the Maverick lineup for 2027, with changes that affect engine availability, off-road upgrades, and more. For example, the base Maverick XL is now only available with the hybrid powertrain. Therefore, if you’re shopping for the best deal on a Maverick equipped with the 250-horsepower 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine, you need to upgrade to the mid-level XLT.
In better news, you can save money adding the trail-friendly FX4 package to the Maverick XLT, since it no longer requires upgrades like the XLT Luxury package or 18-inch wheels. There’s also a version of the XLT (302A) that now comes standard with the FX4 package! Similarly, adding the 4K Tow package (which lets you tow 4,000 pounds max) no longer requires the Ford Co-Pilot package.
If you like to leave your keys in the car while you hike or hunt, you’ll be pleased to know that the handy SecuriCode keyless entry pad is optional for every Maverick. And the base XL now comes standard with a perimeter alarm to alert you intruders.
Unfortunately, the XL, XLT, and Lariat trims have replaced their standard spare tire with a tire inflator and sealant kit. A conventional 17-inch spare tire is now optional — but it’s an upgrade we highly recommend, since the sealant kit can’t remedy every issue (think sidewall damage or large tears).
Yes and no — while the base price ($29,990*) hasn’t budged, both the low-riding Lobo (starting at 39,000*) trims slash their price tags for 2027. Compared to last year’s model, the new Maverick Lobo trims $3,775 from its base price. The Tremor is down $3,490.
